"Behavioral Studies for Educators"

Education by Design is a framework based on sound research, and clinical and educational experience. This framework is designed to give educators a reference point when working with students on matters that affect academic performance (RtI) and positive behavior in the classroom (PBS). We spend years in school developing our technical skills and knowledge to educate students. In a similar manner, understanding and developing our unique inter-personal skills are just as vital to success in the classroom. Studies by the Carnegie Foundation have shown that 85% of our success comes from successful people skills! These skills are developed through learning how to interact and communicate effectively with others.

In these three days, you begin to take steps toward developing and facilitating the skills for strong team collaboration, meeting RtI and PBS objectives, raising student achievement and improving behavior in the classroom.
(21 Credit Hours or 2.1 CEU’s available)

2. Understanding another person within your Team, Small Learning Community and in the classroom.
3. Adapting your style to develop stronger team collaboration and increase academic results to meet RtI and PBS objectives.


BEHAVIORAL STUDIES

Course 101   Education by Design  (RtI)      Day 1


Your Studies for Course 101 will include:

 

·       Completing Your Personality Assessment

    You will complete your assessment and graphs. You will  

     learn how to read and assess what it means to you.

 

·       DISCover How to Understand Yourself and    

    Others.

      Experience an exciting introduction to personality styles. 

      Laugh and learn as you see yourself and others with  

      a new awareness, humor and acceptance.


·       Interactive Funbook™                   

       Recognize the “Pace and Priority” of others.

         Become aware of characteristics and predictable patterns

         to maintain control in the classroom.

 

·       Teaching the Styles™

 Identify teaching/learning styles and understand how to 

 adapt your style to meet the needs of different learners.  

 Enrich your core curriculum with differentiated instruction

  to increase academic achievement for 80% of your

 students at Tier 1, RtI.




BEHAVIORAL STUDIES

Course 102  Education by Design  (RtI)       Day 2

 

    Your Studies for Course 102 will include:

 

·       Discussion: Awareness and Insights

     Our interactive time will gain different perspectives,

     insights and challenges in our diverse settings with this

     information.

 

·       Environment @ Work™

DISCover the what, why and how of making the most of your environment. We will explore the relevance and rigor in the curriculum and encourage peak performance and achievement flow experiences for all students.

 

·       Class @ Work™

The goal of this workshop is to apply research-based insights to discover your own strengths and those of your students to maximize your effectiveness in the classroom addressing Tier 2 RtI, through Individualized Instruction

 


BEHAVIORAL STUDIES

Course 103  Education by Design   (PBS)     Day 3

 

    Your Studies for Course 103 will include:

 

·       Discipline @ Work™

This workshop is designed to have teachers reflect on their influence in leading students. It covers topics from prevention to crisis intervention using PBS.

 

·       Love and Logic® in the Classroom

In Response to Intervention, this Positive Behavior Intervention Support philosophy will be a foundation for reducing stress and improving student behavior at all levels of prevention. This workshop is based on the popular program developed by Jim Fay and Dr. Charles Fay, Ph.D. You will learn how to apply The Two Rules of Love and Logic® in simple manageable segments.

 

·       How to Facilitate On-Site Staff Training

        Review Processes and Resources.

We are pleased to announce that Teaching Our Youth will be hosting our Relational Education Dynamics 3-Day Program at Weber's Inn. A Continental Breakfast will be provided each day. We will also secure a block of rooms for attendees to reserve if overnight accommodations are needed.
